Old and New Cars Under Toowong Mitsubishi

The Mitsubishi Eclipse was born in 1990 from a union between Chrysler and Mitsubishi in a partnership called Diamond-Star Motors. The sporty coupe was marketed under a number of other names before being retooled and introduced in 1990 as the Eclipse. The Eclipse siblings include the Eagle Talon and the Plymouth Laser, which were where ant the some plant in central Illinois formed and introduced at the same time as the Eclipse. Neither the Eagle Talon nor the Plymouth Laser were as well designed or received and only the Eclipse remains in production today.

You have come to the right place in your explore for an old car price guide. Many antique collectors like yourself have started their searches for list values in this very same place. This type of guide will direct you to value based on the make, model, year and state of the motor vehicle in question. While this is a great piece of information, one must also take into account that you must be unbiased in your assessment of the condition of your car or truck in order to get an accurate value quote.

There's something about the new Mitsubishi Colt that I can't quite put my finger on. It might be the baffling amount of internal space that seems to imply a tryst with the trades, or perhaps it's the stunningly good looks of a car that is versatile enough to grasp into even the most meager space. The handling is crisp and delightful even on longer journeys, and there's enough poke to get you from A to B with the minimum of fuss.

In 1990 the DSM trio stormed our shores with a car that offered a ton of performance for the money. The Mitsubishi Eclipse was a sports coupe with critical styling (love it or hate it) that offered not only the option of a turbocharged four cylinder engine known as the 4G63 but also the ability to combine this with pavement gripping all-wheel drive. The GS-T being the front-wheel drive only turbo version and the GSX offered the all-wheel drive. In the early 90's before America was used to getting the latest in all-wheel drive rally inspired vehicles like the EVO and WRX the Eclipse.

A combination of being stylish, spacious and good on the rough stuff is helped enormously by the fact that the Shogun is turbo-charged so you can go everywhere in a blur whilst having passersby think they've seen the world's fastest elephant. The second car Mitsubishi is known for is of course the Lancer Evolution range. In heart a space rocket with another aggressively styled car taped to it, the Evo is now in its tenth incarnation and is showing no signs of slowing down in its old age. Popular in equal measure with car thieves and rally drivers the Lancer is a bone fide supercar beater with the latest version completing the 0-60mph dash in a dizzying 4.1 seconds.

Mitsubishi's presence in the U.S. dates most foreign manufacturers, relying initially on its partnership with Chrysler to sell rebadged vehicles in North America opening in the 1970s. Cars such as the Plymouth Colt and Dodge D50 were Mitsubishi products, decent sellers when people were looking at buying smaller cars. In the 1980s, Mitsubishi began to strike out on its own, selling cars through its own dealer network and offering a few models and engine choices to Chrysler.

How well will my Plymouth Laser (Eagle Talon) turbo do in the snow with studded tires?

I have a front wheel drive 1990 Plymouth Laser RS TURBO with a low profile 16 inch tire and a turbo. It's terrible in the snow...gets stuck really easily. Usually I use an AWD winter car, but that has broken down. If I put studded snows on the Laser, will it improve the traction greatly? Thanks!!

Winter tires will help, but studs are pretty extreme. They're for driving on ice. If you have to do that, then you may want to try it.

You use the term "get stuck". That's an odd term for people driving in winter on public roads. You don't "get stuck" on a public road. That's what happens in the ditch.

I think the car will do fine if you have the skills to keep it on the road. On ice, you have to plan ahead. A lot!
