Ranchfly, sorry but the last 2 answeres' are wrong. A solid lift cam should sound like a sewing machine when right. After hard runs they tighten up, not loosen up( I know cause in 1980 it cost me $500 in a race . Ever heard of poli-loks? They go on top and underneath of the adjuster nut and 'Lock" in the lash adj. Get the "poli-loks" and adjust only when ya lose that "sewing machine" sound under the hood. You should hear some clatter (clickity, clickity) under the hood with a solid lift cam
