Where do you check the fuel pressure on a 2002 Mazda Protege 5 and what psi should it be?
I have a 2002 Mazda Protege 5. When it first starts up, it acts like it runs kinda rough, until you rev it up a couple of times. Does anyone know where to check the fuel pressure on this and what psi it is supposed to be? I can't seem to find the fitting to put the pressure tester on on the fuel rail.
If it only acts up at startup it's not fuel pressure. If you have a fuel pressure gauge, you have to depressurize the fuel system, Connect the gauge between the fuel filter and the fuel rail. You might have to purchase another short piece of fuel injector fuel hose. Let the fuel pump run several seconds to build up pressure again and then turn the engine on.
