What Difference Does a Top Jock Make to Winning Horse Racing systems

Does a top rated jockey really make so much difference to the winning of a horse race, and how important is it to factor this in to horse racing systems? This article tackles these questions.

For many, the jockey is the number one criteria, and they back the horse if their particular favourite jockey is on board. To me, this is a bad strategy, and more than often that not, results in a diminishing betting bank.

Let us take a look at an example of some top rate jockeys and how you would have done in the betting if you would have backed those jockeys on every race: -

As you can see, these jockeys have amazing strike rates, and are indeed outstanding jockeys. So why then, if they are such outstanding jockeys, with such high strike rates are the betting profit results in the red so often? The answer to this question is undoubtedly that the general punting public back the horse so heavily that the price reduces far lower than what it should be. As a result, the bet is not a value bet, and therefore, the long term profit will be shown as a loss.

What generally happens with the jockeys is that if any one of them has a good string of successes, they may get asked to ride for stables that have better horses. The jockey may then go on to get an even better strike rate. This gives a misleading view to the general punting public that the jockey is the contributing factor to the winning of the race

The general punting public tend to over estimate the horses chance of success purely by the fact that it is being ridden by a top performing jockey. This kind of betting strategy is flawed, because the jockey only contributes a small percentage to the overall horse's chance of winning. For example, if you were to generalize a percentage comparison between the horse's contribution to winning the race and the jockey's percentage, we would see the following approximation: -

80% - Horses ability wins the race and would have won the race no matter who the jockey was.

20% - The Horse won because of the contributing factor of the Jockey on board

For horse racing systems then, the importance of the jockey is not so paramount, at least, not with trying to find a winner. It might be used as a factor to find value though. Most punters pile their bets on horse with the best jockey. As a result, quite often, the price drops below what would be considered a value back bet, in which case, we find a value lay bet.

The purpose of this article is to help you consider your betting options rather than opting for what might seem a logical betting strategy. Winning at horse racing is not an easy thing to do. You might be lucky in the short term with any particular strategy, but in depth research is required, whether it is from any reliable horse racing systems, or from your own strategic system development.

How do you install 5 point racing harnesses on a 1990 Acura Integra?

I just bought racing seats for my car but i didn't install them yet cause i wanted the harnesses to be here ready to go in at the same time. i know how to do the seats but not the harnesses. Can i just bolt them to the sliders or the floor of the car. Please help.

the best way to install the seat belts would be to intall a roll cage but if you don't want the cage,you could use the same location your lap belts are bolted to the floor just unbolt the stock belts and install your lap belts here,to install the shoulder harness and sub belt you can bolt these to the floor.for the bolts to hold better,can weld 4"x4"x1/8 thick steel plates where you want the bolts to go through the floor at and use the eye bolts from summitracing.com.or if you can't use a welder can use large washers.up to you and what you have available to use.
