NHRA 1000 ft instead of 1360 ft.?
Did NHRA lower the Top Fuel dragster and Nitro Funny cars to run 1000ft. instead of the full 1/4 mile (1360ft) because of the death of Scott Kalitta? Wikipedia says so but sometimes they are unreliable.
Yes they did and they will continue to do this until they can figure something out on how to better control 7000 horsepower.
All of the drivers are okay with it but it was a shock when I first saw it, I thought that something was going wrong with these cars….
