New Fender Premium Auto System to be featured in select 2012 Volkswagen models

Industry-leading mobile audio supplier Panasonic Automotive Systems Company of America has partnered withFender Musical Instruments Corp, manufacturer of guitars, basses, amplifiers and related equipment, to develop the all-new Fender Premium Audio System that will be featured in select 2012 Volkswagen (VW) models.  The 2012 Volkswagen Jetta GTI will be the first VW model featuring the Fender Premium Audio System and will be available in dealerships this spring.

 

The Fender Premium Audio System encompasses three years of research and was developed hand-in-hand with the Volkswagen vehicle design team, resulting in a nine-speaker system that delivers uncompromised clarity regardless of volume, with a unique Fender sound.

 

"When Panasonic Automotive first partnered with Fender in 2007, our charge was to bring a ‘platform for creativity' to the automotive market," said Allen Kudla, Sales and Marketing Senior Vice President, for Panasonic Automotive Systems.

Along with the nine-speaker system, the Fender Premium Audio System features 400 watts of system power.  The speakers have been uniquely designed to feature proprietary Panasonic technology.

what is a better buy? A 2006/2007 Volkswagen GTI or a 2005 Jetta GLI?

considering that both have the same mileage, same condition, and same price, which one is a better car? thanks

No question about it the GTI. The new 2.0 liter turbo engine is incredible. You can get it in the model years 2006-2009 VW GTI, GLI, Jetta Wolfsburg, Jetta 2.0T, Passat, Tiguan, CC, EOS, and the Audi A3, A4, or TT. It mixes performance and fuel economy like no other engine on the market today. Most of all it is FUN! - especially the GTI - the manual transmission is very responsive and the automatic transmission (labeled "DSG" (short for Direct Shift Gearbox) is just as fun - it also has Tiptronic AND paddle shifters where you can shift from paddles attached to the steering wheel - also this "automatic" shifts in 8 milliseconds: faster than any human or ANY other gearbox on the market today.

The 2005 GLI 1.8 liter turbo is adequate but nothing compared to the 2006-2009 models. Get the GTI - you won;t regret it.

P.S.: C7S is incorrect - the 200 hp engine is an inline 4 - not a V6
