I have a '97 Silverado, extended cab short bed, 2wd. Its got the Vortec 350 with CSFI. I've got a K&N air filter on it, but the stock air box. It has shorty headers and 2.5" cat back exhaust w/ dynomax turbo mufflers. Any suggestions on what to do next to get good bang/buck? Cam? Hotter ignition? Its got a 3.42 rear end and i've considered swapping for a 3.73, gets more power to the ground but i'm not sure how much fuel mileage i'll lose. I only get 14.5-15 mpg in-town as it is. I'm not real big on tuners but I haven't done much research on modern tuners for gassers. If i do a tuner I want a good quality, safe, reliable tune that makes usable power and not just a "your burning more fuel so you must be making more power" tune. This is an everyday driver truck with 170k miles on it so i'm looking for a more intelligent idea than just slap a procharger on it and shoot it with NOS. If the motor blows its getting a crate 383 but that DOESN'T mean I want to blow the motor.
