Top Shipping Ports In China

The port in Shanghai China is considered China's leading scientific and technological research center and the most important gateway for foreign trade in China.  It is the biggest transporter of goods going into and leaving China.  Shanghai's geographic location, engineering innovations, and river access to the city makes it one of the most popular ports in the world.  It is considered the busiest port in the world, based on cargo tonnage.

The main focus of operations in the Port of Shanghai is the container terminal branch.  This is where cargo containers can be transferred to different types of transporters.  The non-container terminals are mostly used in transporting for regional distribution centers.  The Port of Shanghai has invested heavily in the development of their logistics business.  This has been the key to their success in efficiently and effectively managing its different terminals.

Innovation and feats of engineering design have also greatly contributed to the Port of Shanghai's success and spectacular reputation.  They were the first to implement the quay crane that can handle 40 foot containers.  They developed a fixed price system that streamlined management of ports around the world.  New construction technologies were developed in Shanghai allowing it to expand operations.  They have successfully implemented digitized terminal operation and fully integrated operations management systems.  The construction, operations and management of the Port of Shanghai have set the standards for the rest of the world's ports.

While the Port of Shanghai connects East and West China, the Port of Ningbo connects the North and South.  Shanghai was credited with sparking economic growth in Ningbo after a bridge was built connecting the two port cities in 2008.  Unlike Shanghai, Ningbo is a deepwater port, handling 300,000 ton vessels.  Bulk container breakdowns and massively improved logistics have made the Port of Ningbo a valuable sister port to the Port of Shanghai.

The Port of Ningbo is a modern, multi-faceted port made up of sea ports, river ports, and estuary harbors.  The port as a whole is one of the few in the world with 100-million ton cargo throughput.  It offers small, medium and large berths capable of handling the largest international containers in China.  Railways and highways connect directly to the port for easy water-to-land transitions.

With an unmatched development potential and uniquely favorable weather and water conditions, the Port of Ningbo is expected to keep growing.  They are already considered a first class ocean shipping port in mainland China.  As they expand, they will rival the ocean freight capacities of the Port of Shanghai with the additional prestige of servicing the largest ships in the world.

i have firewire port but maybe no firewire software?

My brother just sent me a rather new but used notebook from overseas. it has a four-point firewire port so i bought a firewire cable to hook up my vidcam but the XP PC doesn't register it. i can't find the EEE3 hub thing on Device Manager so I'm assuming there's no driver/software for the firewire YET the notebook still has a port. Any ideas how I can get the PC to recognise it?

Um I am a little confused, You need a IEEE 1394 firewire port, If you add the model of your notebook then I can have a look at it, But I can do little more than say, that it sounds more like a USB port. If you reboot your laptop and then either hit "del" or "F2" you should get into the bios, have a look in there to see if the device is turned off.

Again add the make and model of your laptop
