The Diesel DPF Dilemma

Many of the major manufacturers of diesel performance aftermarket products have tried to figure out an effective way to reverse the performance and fuel economy-reducing effects of the emissions control DPF device. A diesel particulate filter is designed to remove soot and other particulates from the exhaust gas stream. If they make the car break noise regulations then they are illegal. I have no idea what the inspectors will say. These systems do not really add any power to a stock car. You need other modifications and reprogramming to see any benefit, and it's going to be small and at the top end where it's really not going to matter.
