I have a 82 454 and am switch from a mech to elect fuel pump. If I use Holley blue pump then do I need return?

when using an electric fuel pump,u should include the regulater,most electric pumps,have enough volume and pressure,to over power the needle and seat on the carb,,the closer the regulator to the carb the better,and put a fuel pressure guage after the regulator,then adjust regulator so ur guage reads 5 or 6 lbs of pressure,,i would return the fuel to the tank,either off the left over port on the regulator,with a smaller return line,or cap the extra regulator port,,,,and buy, and older mopar in line filter,with 3/8 in and out,with a 5/16 or 1/4 return port,,,that filter is from early seventies,easy to get and cost about 6 or 7 buck's..
