why would an aluminum rod double the size of another aluminum rod have higher temperatures along its length?
2 rods of the same material. one is half the diameter. shouldnt the smaller diameter rod be warmer and have a higher max temperature? why do my results show the opposite?

If you put a fixed amount of energy into each rod, the thicker one will heat up less, as there is more material to warm up. More material, same amount of energy, lower temperature.
